Testing and Commissioning Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience as a Testing Technician, Testing and Commissioning Technician, or similar position.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience in panelboard and switchgear manufacturing, testing, and inspection is required.
- At least 4 years of experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Experience in electrical panel functional testing, point-to-point checking, HV testing, IR testing, relay testing, and control/protection panel testing.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA/LA drawings, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of testing equipment such as multimeters, relay testers, oscilloscopes, and Sverker test sets.
- Experience with secondary injection testing and auxiliary relay testing is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SAS console testing, MCB testing, AC/DC circuit verification, and FAT procedures is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, inspection, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to identify wiring, production, design, and electrical circuit discrepancies.
- Saudi or GCC experience is preferred; Filipino experience is also acceptable.
- Male applicants are preferred for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional testing of electrical components, wiring, circuits, panelboards, and switchgear.
- Perform physical verification, including GA (General Arrangement) and LA (Layout Arrangement) checks, to ensure panels conform to approved drawings.
- Perform point-to-point checks of control, power, and protection circuits according to electrical schematics.
- Verify the proper operation and functionality of relays, meters, circuit breakers, control devices, and protection systems.
- Prepare and arrange panels and equipment for High Voltage (HV) and Insulation Resistance (IR) testing.
- Perform functional tests on control and protection panels after assembly and completion of initial inspections.
- Conduct testing in accordance with approved electrical schemes to verify correct wiring, connections, and circuit operation.
- Operate and maintain testing instruments such as multimeters, relay testers, oscilloscopes, and Sverker relay test equipment.
- Interpret and work accurately from electrical wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, panel drawings, and technical documents.
- Conduct detailed point-to-point testing to confirm that all wiring and connections comply with the approved electrical scheme.
- Identify production and design discrepancies and issue appropriate punch lists based on panel inspection and testing results.
- Verify completed punch-list items and ensure corrections have been properly implemented according to schematic diagrams.
- Perform secondary injection testing of auxiliary relays, including DC supervision, timers, bistable relays, and I/O relays, using Sverker or equivalent testing equipment.
- Conduct SAS console testing, including MCB and AC/DC circuit verification and functional checks.
- Verify loose materials and associated components required for the project.
- Assist in testing and preparation of panels and equipment for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Record testing results, discrepancies, corrective actions, and final verification findings.
- Coordinate with production, design, quality control, and engineering teams to resolve testing issues.
- Ensure all testing activities are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable electrical standards.
