TIMBER MACHINIST

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Timber Machinist or similar role
• Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in relevant fields
• Skilled in blade sharpening, machine setup, and calibration
• Knowledge of routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to supervise or lead a small team
• Flexible and willing to work overtime when required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities:

• Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, and moulders to cut and shape timber according to specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints for accurate measurements and product quality
• Inspect finished timber products for defects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance, blade sharpening, and minor repairs on machinery
• Calibrate machines and set up tools for efficient operation
• Follow strict workplace safety procedures and use protective equipment at all times
• Supervise and guide a small team of workers, ensuring adherence to production standards
• Flexibly work overtime when required to meet project deadlines
