Heavy Equipment Operator
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
- Capacity to provide and follow direction.
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
- Ability to work extended hours, as required.
Responsibilities:
- Operating Heavy Equipment -Manipulating various types of heavy machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials.
- Safety Compliance – Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy machinery on job sites.
- Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance checks on equipment, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and reporting any necessary repairs. The operator should also wash and grease the equipment when required.
- Loading and Unloading – Ensuring proper loading and unloading of materials and equipment as required.
- Collaboration – Collaborating with site supervisors and team members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Pre-operational Checks – Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment and cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment.
- Following instructions and plans -Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to project plans and specifications
