Heavy Equipment Operator

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
• Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
• Capacity to provide and follow direction.
• Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
• Ability to work extended hours, as required.

Responsibilities:

• Operating Heavy Equipment -Manipulating various types of heavy machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials.
• Safety Compliance – Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy machinery on job sites.
• Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance checks on equipment, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and reporting any necessary repairs. The operator should also wash and grease the equipment when required.
• Loading and Unloading – Ensuring proper loading and unloading of materials and equipment as required.
• Collaboration – Collaborating with site supervisors and team members to ensure project specifications are met.
• Pre-operational Checks – Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment and cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment.
• Following instructions and plans -Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to project plans and specifications
