Laboratory Technician

 Qualifications:

• For 24 – 45 years old
• Minimum of 5 year working experience
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in materials science or industrial technology or an appropriate qualification.
• With full proficiency in the English language.
• Proven experience working in a quality control laboratory, preferably in the polystyrene industry of all types, for no less than five years.
• Strong knowledge of quality control principles and other relevant tools. Knowledge of appropriate computer programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO, and their implementation in the manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze data accurately.
• The ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing work needs.
• Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality control checks and tests on raw materials, including chemical analysis, dimensional measurements, and other relevant tests using various tools and equipment.
• Conducting examinations and tests on products (expanded and extruded polystyrene) at various stages of the manufacturing process to identify any defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Conducting final checks on the final products, and verifying their compliance with customer specifications and industrial standards
• Accurately document all test results and data and maintain detailed records of quality control activities and inspections.
• Analyze test data and results to identify trends or areas of concern and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
• Collaborate with production teams to deal with quality issues, resolve non-conformities, and implement preventive measures.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of  quality management systems, and ensure compliance with relevant industrial standards and regulations
• Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable testing.
• Assist in developing and confirming new testing methods and procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and purchasing, to identify and address quality concerns and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
