Butcher/Slaughterhouse

Qualifications:

• Gender: Male
• Minimum of 3 years in butchery or slaughterhouse work
• Understanding of animal anatomy and cuts of meat is beneficial.
• Proficiency in using knives and other butchery tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy carcasses and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling meat products.
• Keen attention to detail for precision in cutting and portioning meat.

Job Description:

• Skilled in the process of butchery and/or slaughter, including humane handling and processing of livestock for meat production.
• Proficient in cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning meat according to specified cuts and customer requirements.
• Conducting quality checks on meat products to ensure freshness, proper cuts, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
• Operating and maintaining butchery tools, knives, saws, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assisting in managing meat inventory, stock rotation, and storage to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Adhering to food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and workplace safety standards at all times.
• Ensuring cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and tools to uphold hygiene standards.
