Credit Officer

Qualifications

• Female applicants
• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is typically preferred.
• Familiarity with the construction industry, including its financial dynamics, project types, and contracting processes, is important for understanding the unique challenges and risks associated with credit in this sec
• Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to read and interpret financial statements, assess credit risk, and analyze economic trends in the construction industry.
• Previous experience in credit analysis or underwriting, preferably within the construction or contracting industry, is often preferred.
• Understanding of relevant financial regulations, including industry-specific
  regulations and legal requirements, is important for compliance.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing credit applications and financial statements submitted by potential clients, subcontractors, or suppliers seeking credit from the company.
• Assessing the credit risk associated with each applicant, taking into account their financial stability, credit history, industry reputation, and the scope of the project or services requested.
• Collaborating with clients to structure credit arrangements, such as payment terms and credit limits, that meet their needs while minimizing risk for the contracting company.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate credit documentation, including credit applications, contracts, and credit agreements.
• Communicating credit decisions to applicants, explaining terms and conditions, and addressing client inquiries and concerns.
• Continuously monitoring the creditworthiness of existing clients, subcontractors, or suppliers and taking appropriate actions in response to changes in credit risk.
• Managing delinquent accounts and coordinating collection efforts, which may involve negotiations, payment plans, or legal action if necessary.
• Preparing reports on credit performance, risk assessments, and credit portfolio management for senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborating with legal and contract management teams to review client contracts and assess their financial implications for the company.
• Participating in the development and updating of the company’s credit policies and guidelines to ensure responsible lending practices.
