BUS MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Bus Mechanic working on buses, coaches, or commercial passenger vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Diesel engines
- Brake systems
- Suspension systems
- Air-conditioning systems
- Electrical systems
- Preventative maintenance for heavy vehicles
- Ability to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and carry out servicing efficiently.
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must know how to drive with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems in heavy vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using manual and computer-based diagnostic tools.
- Replace or repair worn and damaged parts according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, and system adjustments.
- Perform welding, fabrication, or machining work as required for repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and report findings to supervisors.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian road safety and workplace health regulations.
- Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime and meet operational schedules.s
