CARVER (WOOD)

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred
• High School Graduate or Formal training or apprenticeship in wood carving, fine woodworking, or joinery.
• Strong understanding of wood types, grain behavior, and carving techniques, in bespoke and decorative interior works.
• At least 5 years of experience in wood carving for joinery, furniture, or fit-out projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work from samples or references.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hand and machine-assisted wood carving for decorative joinery, furniture, wall panels, doors, moldings, columns, and custom fit-out elements.
• Execute carving styles such as traditional, classical, contemporary, ornamental, and relief carving as required by the project.
• Select appropriate timber types based on carving requirements, grain orientation, durability, and finish.
• Inspect wood for defects such as knots, cracks, warping, or moisture issues prior to carving.
• Use and maintain hand tools such as chisels, gouges, mallets, rasps, and knives.
• Operate relevant machinery (e.g., routers, CNC rough-cut machines, sanding tools) where applicable.
• Ensure all carving work complies with approved samples, QA QC requirements, and company workmanship standards.
• Conduct self-inspection of completed work before submitting for QAQC inspection.
• Follow all health and safety regulations within the workshop and site environments.
• Use PPE correctly while working with sharp tools and machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety
