CLEANER

Qualifications:

• Required: FIVE-STAR hotel experience in a similar role is a must.
• Cleaner Experience: previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role.
• Physical Stamina: Housekeeping staff members should be physically fit and able to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail is crucial for ensuring that guest rooms and public areas meet the high cleanliness and presentation standards of a five-star hotel.
• Customer Service Skills: Good communication and customer service skills are important, as housekeeping staff may interact with guests and respond to their requests or inquiries.
• Teamwork: They should be able to work as part of a team, collaborating with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments to meet guests’ needs.
• Adaptability: The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle changing situations is vital in the hospitality industry.
• Safety Knowledge: Understanding safety and cleanliness protocols, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, is essential to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning Guest Rooms: Cleaners are responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, which includes making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Restocking Amenities: They ensure that guest rooms are well-stocked with amenities such as toiletries, towels, and linens.
• Public Areas: Cleaners clean and maintain the cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
• Laundry: They handle the collection and distribution of hotel linens and towels, ensuring that clean and fresh items are readily available for guests.
• Report Maintenance Issues: They report any maintenance issues or needed repairs to the appropriate department or supervisor to ensure the timely resolution of problems.
• Guest Requests: Attend to guest requests for additional amenities or special cleaning needs.
• Room Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to ensure that rooms meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Inventory Management: Keep track of supplies and notify the supervisor when reordering is necessary.
• Training and Development: Cleaners may receive training on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Emergency Response: In case of emergencies or evacuations, cleaners are responsible for following established protocols and ensuring guest safety.
