Australian Skilled Migration is seeking experienced Trailer Truck Fitters to work in Australia. The successful candidates will be responsible for fitting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining trailer truck components, including axles, brakes, suspension systems, wheels, hubs, chassis, and undercarriage assemblies. Candidates must have strong mechanical skills and the ability to diagnose and repair trailer-related mechanical problems safely and accurately.
TRAILER TRUCK FITTER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the same field.
- With a 1-year Transcript of Records (TOR) from a college or vocational course.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in axle fitting and installation.
- Experience in brake system repair and maintenance.
- Experience in suspension fitting and servicing.
- Knowledge and experience in trailer chassis and undercarriage repairs.
- Skilled in wheel and hub fitting, including inspection and replacement of related components.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving trailer truck systems and components.
- Good understanding of mechanical fitting, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a workshop or heavy-vehicle maintenance environment.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform fitting, installation, servicing, and repair of trailer truck mechanical components.
- Install and fit axles and related axle components according to technical specifications.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain trailer brake systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform servicing and repairs on suspension systems, including suspension components and fittings.
- Inspect and repair trailer chassis and undercarriage components for wear, damage, cracks, or other defects.
- Fit, remove, inspect, and replace wheels, hubs, bearings, and related components.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate tools, equipment, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
- Carry out mechanical repairs and component replacements accurately and efficiently.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend the service life of trailer equipment.
- Check component alignment, fitment, clearances, and overall mechanical condition.
- Use hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, and mechanical fitting tools safely and correctly.
- Follow technical instructions, manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
- Conduct inspections and functional checks after completing repairs and installations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing, and replaced components when required.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively with mechanics, fitters, supervisors, and other workshop personnel to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Report major mechanical defects, safety concerns, and additional repair requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other trailer fitting, mechanical repair, and maintenance duties related to the position.
