Track Inspector
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in railway track inspection, maintenance, or rail infrastructure operations.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Strong knowledge of railway track components, inspection procedures, and maintenance practices.
- Experience using specialized railway inspection tools and measuring equipment.
- Ability to identify track defects, assess safety risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Familiarity with railway safety regulations, quality standards, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Strong analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and report-writing abilities.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency inspections when required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and detailed inspections of railway tracks, switches, crossings, and related infrastructure.
- Identify defects, wear, misalignment, cracks, loose fasteners, damaged sleepers (ties), and other track irregularities.
- Use specialized inspection tools, measuring devices, and monitoring technology to assess track conditions.
- Evaluate track geometry, alignment, gauge, and structural integrity to ensure compliance with railway safety standards.
- Prepare inspection reports, document findings, and recommend maintenance or repair requirements.
- Immediately report critical defects or hazardous conditions that may affect railway operations.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and railway controllers to schedule repairs and track closures when necessary.
- Monitor completed maintenance work to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Ensure inspections comply with company policies, railway regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
- Assist in accident investigations and track condition assessments when required.
- Support safe and efficient railway operations for passenger services, cargo transport, and other railway activities.
- Perform other railway inspection duties assigned by supervisors.
