TOOLING TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Vocational diploma or short-course certificate in a relevant technical field or a similar discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant as a Tooling Technician or Mechanical Technician.
• Male applicants are preferred.
• Strong equipment maintenance, tooling, and troubleshooting skills.
• Practical ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components.
• Experience using cranes, hoists, hand tools, and power tools for maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of equipment calibration and preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with the PRISMA maintenance management system or similar CMMS software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the IATF 16949 quality management system.
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, maintain, and troubleshoot tooling equipment to ensure it is safe and ready for production use.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend tool service life.
• Diagnose tooling faults and identify worn, damaged, or inoperative components.
• Disassemble equipment and remove defective parts using appropriate cranes, hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
• Inspect and analyze the texture, shape, condition, and dimensions of tooling components to identify wear or defects.
• Repair, adjust, replace, and reassemble tooling components as required.
• Support production lines by promptly resolving tooling-related problems.
• Assist with tooling changeovers, equipment adjustments, and setup activities.
• Perform calibration and maintenance activities according to established procedures.
• Record maintenance activities, inspection findings, repairs, and replacement parts in the PRISMA Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring equipment problems.
• Follow quality management procedures, workplace safety requirements, and applicable equipment handling standards.
• Support compliance with the IATF 16949 quality management system where applicable.
