Minerva Navis S.R.L is seeking skilled and experienced Ship or Hull Fitters to join its shipbuilding and steel fabrication operations in Romania. The successful candidates will fabricate, fit, align, and assemble steel plates and ship structures, ensuring that hull components are installed accurately according to technical drawings, measurements, and established shipbuilding standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
• At least high school graduate.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Ship Fitter, Hull Fitter, or related position.
• Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or steel fabrication.
• Skilled in fabricating, fitting, aligning, and assembling steel plates and ship structures.
• Ability to perform cutting, fitting, alignment, and installation of hull components.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
• Familiarity with ship structures, steel plates, frames, bulkheads, stiffeners, brackets, and related components.
• Able to use basic fabrication tools, measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely.
• Good understanding of proper fit-up, alignment, measurement, and structural assembly procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and working in shipyard environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a shipyard team.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and willing to follow supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, fit, and assemble steel plates and structural components for ships and vessels.
• Perform hull fitting and assembly according to approved technical drawings and specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare steel plates and structural materials for fabrication.
• Fit and align hull components accurately before welding or permanent installation.
• Install ship structural components, frames, bulkheads, brackets, stiffeners, decks, and related assemblies.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
• Verify dimensions, angles, alignment, levels, and positioning of components before final assembly.
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment safely.
• Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, and other basic steel preparation activities as required.
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and positioning of steel components before welding.
• Work closely with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and other shipyard personnel during assembly.
• Inspect fitted structures and components for dimensional accuracy and proper alignment.
• Identify fitting, dimensional, or structural issues and report them to the supervisor.
• Make necessary adjustments to achieve proper fit and alignment according to specifications.
• Handle steel plates, structural materials, tools, and equipment safely within the work area.
• Follow established shipyard procedures, technical instructions, and quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the fabrication and assembly process.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with repair, modification, and maintenance of ship structures when required.
• Perform other ship fitting, hull fabrication, and steel assembly duties assigned by management.
