SENIOR FOOD MICROBIOLOGIST
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on food microbiology experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading microbiology investigations, root-cause analysis, and CAPA activities.
- Practical experience with environmental monitoring, microbiological method validation, and food safety systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with the ability to guide laboratory and quality personnel.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative abilities.
- Ability to interpret microbiological data and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Strong understanding of microbiological quality control and food safety practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead microbiological testing and quality control activities for food and beverage manufacturing operations.
- Conduct and oversee microbiological investigations related to product quality, contamination, environmental monitoring, and food safety concerns.
- Perform root-cause analysis and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address microbiological issues.
- Establish, implement, and monitor environmental microbiological testing programs.
- Support the validation and verification of microbiological testing methods to ensure reliable and accurate results.
- Interpret laboratory data and microbiological test results and communicate significant findings to management and relevant departments.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety systems and microbiological control programs.
- Investigate out-of-specification results, contamination events, and microbiological deviations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare accurate technical reports, investigation documents, laboratory records, and other microbiology-related documentation.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable food safety, quality, hygiene, and laboratory standards.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to microbiology laboratory personnel.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Food Safety, and other departments to identify and control microbiological risks.
- Participate in audits, food safety reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and other quality-related activities.
