Secondary English Teacher

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, English Education, Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s degree or teaching certification is a plus).
• Deep understanding and familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & As/A-Level).
• Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the As/A-Level standard.
• Holder of a CIE Practical Examiner Training Certificate is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
• Strong classroom management and a student-centered teaching approach.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with Cambridge / international curriculum standards.
• Develop students’ skills in reading comprehension, creative and academic writing, public speaking, and critical analysis.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and ensure every student achieves concept mastery.
• Create a disciplined, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere that fosters active student participation.
• Monitor academic progress through regular assessments, essays, presentations, and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their written and verbal expression.
• Coach and mentor students for language competitions, such as speech, debate, drama, or essay writing contests.
• Assist in organizing school-wide academic and cultural events (e.g., Book Week, Literacy Fairs, and Drama Productions).
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student academic performance and personal growth.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in ongoing professional development workshops.
