QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in a relevant field or similar qualification.
• Ability to speak and understand English effectively.
• Experience in quality control, product inspection, laboratory testing, grading, or related operations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of inspecting, testing, and measuring materials or products and accurately recording test results.
• Ability to perform basic laboratory testing and product quality assessments.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures, inspection standards, and proper documentation.
• Ability to monitor workplace health and safety conditions involving workers, equipment, facilities, and fresh water.
• Knowledge of proper handling and documentation of fish or seafood cargo is an advantage.
• Familiarity with shipping and cargo documentation procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and other common office software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection, testing, measurement, and recordkeeping.
• Good organizational, analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to identify quality and safety issues and report them promptly.
• Physically capable of working in an operational fishery or seafood environment.
• Willing and able to work under pressure and during weekends, Sundays, and holidays as required.
• Responsible, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with workers, supervisors, and other operational personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality control inspections and testing of fishery and seafood products.
• Perform laboratory testing of products for quality assessment and grading purposes.
• Inspect, test, measure, and evaluate raw materials, fish products, and other operational materials.
• Collect and record inspection and laboratory test data accurately.
• Prepare inspection reports, test results, grading records, and other quality control documentation.
• Monitor product quality throughout processing, handling, storage, and shipment activities.
• Identify defects, irregularities, contamination risks, or other quality concerns and report them promptly.
• Verify that products meet established quality specifications and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, laboratory testing, measurements, and product grading.
• Monitor health and safety conditions at the operation site.
• Assist in maintaining health and safety standards for workers, equipment, facilities, and work areas.
• Monitor the condition and availability of fresh water used in operational activities.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify conditions that may affect product quality, worker safety, or operational efficiency.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, sanitation concerns, and other operational risks to management.
• Assist in implementing corrective actions when quality, health, or safety issues are identified.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to fish cargo shipping and shipment activities.
• Check shipping documents for completeness and accuracy before cargo dispatch.
• Coordinate with relevant personnel regarding fish cargo preparation, inspection, documentation, and shipment schedules.
• Ensure quality control and shipping records are properly organized and readily available.
• Prepare reports and communicate inspection findings and operational concerns to supervisors or management.
• Follow company quality control, health and safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling product, laboratory, and shipping records.
• Work effectively under pressure and during weekends, Sundays, and holidays when required.
