Africa Atlantic Rubber Industry Limited is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Assistants to support quality control and inspection activities in its tire and rubber manufacturing operations in Nigeria. The successful candidates will assist with incoming material inspection, production line monitoring, finished product testing, defect reporting, and quality documentation while ensuring compliance with factory standards, production specifications, and safety requirements.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSISTANT

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a tire or rubber factory production line, preferably with experience in quality control or inspection.
• Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical), or a related field.
• High school or technical/vocational school graduate; mechanical or industrial background is preferred.
• Familiarity with tire and rubber manufacturing processes and production line operations.
• Knowledge of basic quality control, inspection, and product testing procedures.
• Familiarity with inspection tools, measuring instruments, and standard measurement methods.
• Ability to perform visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and basic product quality checks accurately.
• Ability to identify defects, deviations, and abnormalities and report them promptly.
• Good understanding of production specifications, quality standards, and inspection procedures.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
• Team-oriented and able to work effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and supervisory personnel.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to train and guide Nigerian local employees when assigned to a team-leader position.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts according to the factory schedule.
• Physically capable of working in a manufacturing environment and performing inspection duties for extended periods.
• Strict safety awareness and compliance with factory rules, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Responsible, disciplined, reliable, and able to maintain accurate and confidential quality records.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect incoming raw materials, rubber compounds, components, and semi-finished products according to established factory quality standards.
• Assist in checking the condition, specifications, quantity, and conformity of materials received for production.
• Monitor tire and inner tube production processes to ensure that operations follow approved specifications and work instructions.
• Conduct routine quality checks at different stages of the production process.
• Observe production parameters and identify conditions that may affect product quality.
• Perform visual inspections of finished tires, inner tubes, and other rubber products.
• Conduct dimensional measurements and basic performance tests on finished products using appropriate inspection tools and equipment.
• Check products for defects, irregularities, damage, dimensional inconsistencies, and other non-conformities.
• Compare inspection results with established product specifications and quality requirements.
• Identify and segregate defective or non-conforming materials and finished products as required.
• Record and report defects, deviations, abnormalities, and quality concerns to supervisors or the appropriate quality personnel.
• Assist in investigating recurring quality problems and provide accurate inspection information to the quality and production teams.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, test results, and quality reports.
• Assist in preparing daily, shift, and production quality documentation.
• Ensure quality records are properly completed, organized, and maintained for traceability.
• Coordinate with production personnel when quality issues are identified during manufacturing.
• Assist in monitoring corrective actions and verifying whether identified defects have been properly addressed.
• Properly handle and maintain inspection tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
• Check inspection equipment before use and report damaged, inaccurate, or malfunctioning instruments.
• Follow established inspection procedures, sampling requirements, quality standards, and factory work instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in inspection and testing areas.
• Strictly follow factory safety procedures while conducting inspection, measurement, and testing activities.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety regulations.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts according to the factory production schedule.
• Coordinate with supervisors, production workers, maintenance personnel, and other quality staff to support efficient production and quality control.
• Assist in training and guiding Nigerian local employees on basic quality inspection procedures when assigned or promoted to a team-leader position.
• Perform other quality assurance, inspection, and production-related duties as assigned by management.
