Pork Butcher

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of professional pork butchery / meat-processing experience.
• At least High School Graduate
• Experience in a meat processing plant, slaughterhouse, pork processing facility or industrial food-production environment.
• Strong pork deboning, trimming and portion-cutting skills.
• Good knowledge of commercial pork cuts and good knife skills.
• Good English speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a chilled processing environment.
• Good attention to detail, discipline, hygiene and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pork cutting, deboning, trimming and portioning according to required product specifications.
• Work with pork carcasses, primal and sub-primal cuts and prepare different commercial cuts as required.
• Identify pork cuts and muscle groups and maintain accuracy in cutting, portion size and weight.
• Maintain good meat yield and minimize unnecessary trimming and wastage.
• Operate knives, meat saws and other butchery equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain knives and hand tools, including proper sharpening.
• Follow production, quality, hygiene, sanitation, food-safety and cold-chain procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all workplace safety requirements.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
