PLANT ELECTRICIAN (Equipment)
Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical certificate, diploma, or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
- At least 1–5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or heavy production environments.
- Experience in gypsum board, cement, drywall manufacturing, or continuous-process industrial plants is an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, and production machinery.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical and workplace safety standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA requirements, is an advantage.
- Formal training in electrical or mechanical maintenance is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and practical technical ability.
- Ability to work effectively with a maintenance team and coordinate with production personnel.
- Willingness to follow plant safety procedures and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment within the plant.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, equipment malfunctions, control circuits, motors, sensors, and related electrical components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain the reliability and efficiency of production machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Inspect electrical panels, cables, switches, circuit breakers, motors, and control systems for damage or abnormal operation.
- Assist in diagnosing electrical and electromechanical problems affecting manufacturing equipment and production lines.
- Replace defective electrical components and carry out repairs in accordance with approved technical procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report potential electrical hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanical technicians, engineers, production operators, and other maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and replacement parts.
- Follow established safety procedures, including electrical isolation and lockout/tagout practices, when performing maintenance work.
- Ensure that tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment failures, improving plant reliability, and minimizing production interruptions.
