PICKAWAY OPERATOR

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be at least a high school graduate.
  • Must possess a valid NC II certificate relevant to the position.
  • Male applicants are preferred.
  • Experience operating pick-away trucks or similar cargo-handling equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of equipment inspection, safe cargo handling, and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and work effectively with a team.
  • Safety-conscious, reliable, and responsible when operating equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate pick-away trucks or cargo-handling equipment to move materials, supplies, and heavy equipment safely around the job site.
  • Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections before and after shifts.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical problems or defects.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging cargo and construction materials.
  • Ensure that loads are handled, secured, and transported safely.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and crew members to ensure timely deliveries and organized storage areas.
  • Follow designated routes, site traffic rules, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of vehicle usage, mileage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
  • Identify potential hazards and report unsafe working conditions to supervisors.
  • Comply with company policies, project requirements, and occupational health and safety standards
