Pawly Care is seeking a professional and experienced Pet Groomer to join its team in Qatar. The successful candidate will provide professional grooming services for dogs and cats while ensuring their safety, comfort, cleanliness, and overall well-being. The role requires attention to detail, good animal-handling skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

PET GROOMER

Qualifications:

• Must have relevant experience as a Pet Groomer or in a closely related position.
• Minimum High School Graduate.
• Must have a Professional Pet Grooming Certificate or equivalent training.
• Preferred candidates have professional experience grooming different breeds of dogs and cats.
• Strong practical skills in bathing, drying, brushing, hair trimming, styling, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and sanitary grooming.
• Good knowledge of different coat types, grooming techniques, and appropriate grooming equipment.
• Ability to safely handle pets of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and grooming requirements.
• Strong understanding of animal welfare, pet safety, hygiene, and proper handling procedures.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality grooming results.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with pet owners regarding grooming requirements and after-care recommendations.
• Good teamwork and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties on time.
• Professional, responsible, patient, and compassionate when handling animals.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming environment.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of grooming tools and equipment.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and grooming standards.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling pets and grooming equipment safely.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, particularly when working with scheduled appointments.
• Reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and willing to learn and follow Pawly Care’s procedures.
• Complete employment and qualification documents, including Certificate of Employment (COE), Diploma, Passport, and relevant Certificate.

Responsibilities:

• Perform professional grooming services for dogs and cats according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Bathe pets using appropriate shampoos and grooming products based on coat type and grooming needs.
• Properly dry, brush, and de-shed pets to achieve a clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Perform hair trimming, clipping, styling, and coat shaping according to breed requirements and customer preferences.
• Conduct nail clipping and filing safely and carefully.
• Perform proper ear cleaning while observing appropriate animal-handling and hygiene practices.
• Perform sanitary grooming and trimming of sensitive areas with care and attention.
• Handle different breeds and sizes of dogs and cats safely throughout the grooming process.
• Assess the pet’s coat condition, skin appearance, behavior, and general grooming needs before beginning services.
• Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of pets throughout every grooming appointment.
• Use appropriate handling techniques to minimize stress, discomfort, and risk of injury to the animal.
• Immediately report unusual skin conditions, injuries, parasites, behavioral concerns, or other issues observed during grooming to the appropriate supervisor and pet owner when applicable.
• Provide professional and friendly customer service to pet owners before, during, and after grooming appointments.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding grooming requirements, coat condition, styling preferences, and after-care recommendations.
• Recommend suitable grooming schedules, coat-care practices, and basic maintenance techniques when appropriate.
• Explain completed grooming services and provide relevant after-care guidance to customers.
• Maintain high standards of animal welfare and follow proper pet-care practices at all times.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the mobile grooming unit before and after each appointment.
• Clean, disinfect, and properly store grooming tools, equipment, tables, tubs, dryers, clippers, and other supplies.
• Ensure grooming equipment is safe, clean, functional, and ready for the next appointment.
• Follow proper sanitation procedures to minimize the risk of cross-contamination between pets.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of shampoos, grooming products, towels, cleaning materials, and other grooming supplies.
• Assist with inventory monitoring and report shortages or damaged supplies to management.
• Follow Pawly Care’s grooming standards, operating procedures, company policies, and quality requirements.
• Follow all applicable health and safety procedures when handling pets, grooming equipment, chemicals, and cleaning materials.
• Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working practices throughout grooming activities.
• Perform assigned duties efficiently and deliver required results within scheduled appointment times.
• Coordinate with other team members regarding appointments, pet requirements, grooming progress, and operational concerns.
• Report completed work, customer concerns, equipment issues, and other relevant matters to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and respectful approach when dealing with pets, customers, and colleagues.
• Work independently when assigned while cooperating effectively with the grooming and operations team.
• Perform other pet grooming, customer service, sanitation, inventory, and operational duties assigned by management.
