MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Qualifications:

• Must have PRC- Med. Tech. License, and PASSER OF ASCPI ( American Society for Clinical Pathology)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (NCLEX)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technologist (ASCPI)
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice
• 3 years of experience in a healthcare related field preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism during stressful times
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Dedicated to provide the best patient care possible
• Must have general working knowledge of computers and department specific software

Job Description:

• Assists the clinic physician in making a medical diagnosis by accurately performing and reporting all in-house laboratory testing procedures and obtaining necessary specimens for reference laboratory testing, as required.
• Ensures accurate lab testing by personally drawing specimen from patients and/or by giving clear, precise instructions to patients for self-administered lab tests.
• Enhances the efficiency and accuracy of lab testing by maintaining adequate laboratory supplies, by keeping equipment in operational condition and by maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory work area.
