Abdulrahman Al Bader Sons Co For Trading and Contracting Co. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Estimator) to support engineering and construction projects in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing mechanical and piping requirements, analyzing project drawings and specifications, and supporting tendering and project planning activities. Candidates should have extensive Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical experience, including previous Saudi Aramco experience, and a strong understanding of applicable Saudi Aramco standards and specifications.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Estimator)

Qualifications:

• Civil or Mechanical Engineering graduate.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer (Estimator).
• Extensive experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical projects.
• Saudi Aramco experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and construction.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Standards and Specifications, including SAES, SAEP, SABP, SAIP, and SAMSS.
• Proficient in CAD and engineering tools used for reviewing drawings, quantities, and technical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction methods, materials, equipment, and piping systems.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and pricing documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project documents.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of project costing, procurement requirements, and construction resource planning.
• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams.
• Able to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple estimation requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, piping, and related construction works.
• Review project drawings, specifications, scope of work, and technical documents to determine project requirements.
• Analyze mechanical systems, piping layouts, equipment, materials, and construction requirements for estimating purposes.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and material estimates based on engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Develop accurate estimates for materials, equipment, manpower, subcontracted work, and other project requirements.
• Review tender documents, requests for quotation, bills of quantities, and scope of work.
• Identify the labor, materials, equipment, and resources required to complete mechanical and piping activities.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors when required.
• Compare supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure that pricing is consistent with project requirements.
• Prepare commercial and technical estimation documentation for tender and project submissions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams regarding estimating requirements.
• Review mechanical construction methods and determine their impact on project costs and resource requirements.
• Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, Saudi Aramco requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
• Apply relevant Saudi Aramco Standards and Specifications, including SAES, SAEP, SABP, SAIP, and SAMSS, when preparing estimates and reviewing technical requirements.
• Identify potential cost risks, scope gaps, variations, and discrepancies in project documents.
• Clarify technical and commercial requirements with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Assist in preparing cost breakdowns, pricing summaries, tender submissions, and supporting estimation reports.
• Use CAD drawings and engineering software to review layouts, measurements, quantities, and technical details.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, quantity take-offs, calculations, and supporting documents.
• Monitor changes in project scope and update estimates accordingly.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all estimation calculations and documentation.
• Perform other engineering, estimating, and project-related duties assigned by management.
