MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (Production Mechanical Technician)

Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical certificate, diploma, or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
• At least 1–5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or heavy production.
• Experience in gypsum board, cement manufacturing, or continuous-process industrial plants is an advantage.
• Hands-on skills in mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical components, conveyors, pumps, bearings, belts, and drive systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with industrial safety requirements and workplace safety standards, including applicable OSHA requirements and good manufacturing practices (GMP), is an advantage.
• Formal training in mechanical or electrical maintenance is an advantage.
• Strong practical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Willingness to comply with plant safety procedures and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, mechanical equipment, and industrial plant systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults affecting production equipment and manufacturing operations.
• Diagnose equipment problems involving bearings, belts, rollers, gears, conveyors, pumps, motors, and other mechanical components.
• Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble defective mechanical parts as required.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, leaks, or other signs of equipment failure.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, technical diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
• Assist in equipment installation, alignment, adjustment, and commissioning when required.
• Coordinate with electricians, engineers, production operators, and other maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and replacement parts.
• Follow established safety procedures when operating tools, handling machinery, and performing maintenance work.
• Keep tools, maintenance equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Support efforts to reduce production downtime, improve equipment reliability, and maintain consistent manufacturing output.
