The Russell Inn is seeking an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join its kitchen team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining food quality and presentation, and supporting smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods. Previous experience in a well-known coffee shop, café, or fast-food establishment is required.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least three (3) years of relevant experience in the same field.
• Must be a graduate of a two (2)- to four (4)-year vocational or college course.
• Must have good English communication skills.
• Must have previous experience working in a well-known coffee shop, café, or fast-food establishment.
• Strong knowledge of basic food preparation and line cooking procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes, cooking instructions, portion standards, and food presentation requirements.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and handle multiple orders during busy service periods.
• Good teamwork, communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, lifting, and performing kitchen duties for extended periods.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to follow instructions and established kitchen procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, portion sizes, quality standards, and presentation requirements.
• Complete daily mise en place, including washing, cutting, slicing, chopping, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, stoves, coffee equipment, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and other menu items as assigned.
• Ensure food is cooked properly and served at the appropriate temperature and quality.
• Follow standardized recipes and cooking procedures to maintain consistency in every order.
• Prepare orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed and served on time.
• Maintain proper portion control and minimize food waste.
• Monitor the freshness, quality, and proper storage of food ingredients.
• Label, date, and store prepared ingredients and food products according to food safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, utensils, counters, and storage areas.
• Clean cooking equipment and work areas before, during, and after service.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and inform the supervisor when ingredients or supplies need replenishment.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and properly storing food deliveries when required.
• Communicate professionally with kitchen team members, supervisors, and other staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment throughout the shift.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties according to established procedures.
• Perform other cooking, food preparation, and kitchen duties assigned by management.
