JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER (Social Studies)

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) with a Major in Social Studies.
• Master’s degree or Master’s units in Education or a related field are preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience in Social Studies at the secondary or junior high school level.
• Strong knowledge of history, geography, civics, economics, and other social science subjects.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare effective lesson plans and student assessments.
• Proficient in using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
• Passionate about teaching and committed to student development and academic excellence.
• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons for junior high school students.
• Teach subjects such as Philippine History, World History, Geography, Economics, Civics, and related social science disciplines in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, classroom activities, and assessments that encourage critical thinking and active participation.
• Foster students’ understanding of historical events, cultures, governments, economics, and global issues.
• Assess student learning through quizzes, examinations, projects, presentations, research activities, and classroom participation.
• Monitor student academic performance and provide timely feedback and academic support.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
• Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Integrate educational technology and interactive teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
• Encourage responsible citizenship, ethical behavior, and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school administrators regarding student progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development programs, school activities, and extracurricular events.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, curriculum standards, and child safeguarding guidelines.
• Perform other teaching and school-related duties assigned by the school administration.
