Africa Atlantic Rubber Industry Limited is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Inner Tube Assistants to support rubber inner tube production operations in Nigeria. The successful candidates will assist with raw material preparation, machine operation, molding and vulcanization, quality inspection, equipment cleaning, and other production activities while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

INNER TUBE ASSISTANT

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a tire or inner tube factory production line.
• Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical), or a related field.
• High school or technical/vocational school graduate; a mechanical or industrial background is preferred.
• Familiarity with inner tube manufacturing and rubber production processes.
• Knowledge of operating extrusion, cutting, splicing, molding, and curing equipment is required.
• Familiarity with basic quality inspection procedures for rubber products, including leakage, thickness, and dimensional checks.
• Ability to follow production standards, work instructions, quality requirements, and factory procedures accurately.
• Good understanding of machine safety and strict compliance with workplace safety regulations.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Team-oriented, cooperative, and able to work effectively with supervisors and production personnel.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to train and guide Nigerian local employees when assigned to a team-leader position.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts according to the factory schedule.
• Physically capable of working in a manufacturing environment and performing production-related tasks for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in production quality and machine operation.
• Responsible, disciplined, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high production and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and check rubber compounds, raw materials, and semi-finished materials required for inner tube production.
• Assist in preparing materials according to production specifications and established manufacturing procedures.
• Operate inner tube extrusion, cutting, and splicing machines safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machine operations and production processes to ensure continuous and consistent output.
• Check machine settings and production conditions and report abnormalities to supervisors.
• Assist with loading inner tubes into molds in preparation for the curing process.
• Monitor vulcanization and curing cycles according to established production parameters.
• Check curing conditions and promptly report any irregularities that may affect product quality.
• Inspect finished inner tubes for air leakage, thickness uniformity, dimensional accuracy, and visible defects.
• Conduct basic quality checks throughout the production process to identify defective or non-conforming products.
• Separate, label, and report defective materials and finished products according to factory procedures.
• Maintain proper handling and storage of rubber materials, semi-finished products, and finished inner tubes.
• Clean production machines, tools, work areas, and equipment regularly.
• Assist with basic and preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubrication, and routine equipment checks.
• Report machine malfunctions, unusual operating conditions, safety hazards, or equipment damage to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality control procedures.
• Strictly comply with factory safety rules and operating procedures when working around machinery and curing equipment.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and observe workplace safety regulations.
• Maintain good housekeeping around production areas to prevent accidents and maintain an orderly workplace.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts according to the factory production schedule.
• Coordinate with other production workers and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow and meet production targets.
• Assist in training and guiding local Nigerian employees on production procedures and safe machine operation when assigned or promoted to a team-leader role.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned by management.
