Turra Holdings Ltd is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Crane Operator to safely operate cranes and support general plant maintenance and rigging activities. The ideal candidate will ensure high standards of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence while adhering to company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Heavy Equipment Crane Operator
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Crane Operator.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certified Crane Operator VOC.
- Current High Risk Licenses in:
- Rigging (RB/RI)
- Working at Heights
- Dogging (DG)
- Confined Space Entry
- Equipment Inspections & Maintenance
- Proven ability to operate cranes and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of rigging, load handling, crane pre-checks, and lifting plan documentation.
- Knowledge of asset control processes and facility housekeeping for safety purposes.
- Physically fit and well-presented, capable of performing demanding operational tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and perform effectively under high-pressure conditions.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and administrative coordination abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cranes and other heavy equipment in compliance with safety protocols, company procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct pre-operation checks, prepare lifting plans, and ensure crane stability and proper load management.
- Coordinate rigging operations, including site preparation, load movement, and monitoring load weights.
- Support general plant maintenance activities, scaffolding operations, and other tasks as required.
- Participate in training programs to maintain an accident-free workplace (EPTWS, JSA, LMRA, O&I, Procedures and Processes).
- Adhere to the Personal Safety Management System (PSMS) and Work Management processes.
- Monitor maintenance activities and ensure the safety and security of all personnel on site.
- Perform housekeeping and waste management tasks to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate effectively with management, supervisors, and team members in a multi-cultural environment.
- Mentor and guide junior operators, ensuring proper adherence to safety and operational standards.
