Guideway and Third Rail Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in railway maintenance, guideway systems, third rail systems, electrical infrastructure, or a related technical field.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for railway systems.
• Familiarity with third rail systems, track components, and railway maintenance practices is an advantage.
• Ability to identify equipment defects and perform minor repairs and component replacements.
• Experience using maintenance management systems (MMS/CMMS) for recording maintenance activities is preferred.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and railway maintenance standards.
• Good troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors, at heights, and in physically demanding railway environments.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, night duties, and emergency maintenance assignments when required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Team Leader in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on guideway and third rail systems in accordance with approved maintenance plans.
• Conduct routine inspections of tracks, guideways, third rail systems, insulators, brackets, fasteners, and related railway infrastructure.
• Identify surface defects, wear, damage, or abnormalities and report findings for corrective action.
• Perform minor repairs, component replacements, and adjustments on guideway and third rail equipment.
• Replace consumable items and worn components as part of scheduled maintenance activities.
• Carry out technical cleaning of third rail systems, guideways, and associated equipment to maintain operational reliability.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and railway safety regulations.
• Record completed maintenance activities accurately in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
• Assist in responding to equipment failures and unscheduled maintenance activities to minimize service disruptions.
• Use maintenance tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
• Support testing and verification of repaired systems before returning them to operational service.
• Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Perform other railway maintenance duties assigned by the Team Leader or supervisors.
