GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational, technical, or trade training in General Maintenance, Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in maintenance, construction, or a technical role.
  • Previous experience in general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical work, construction, or related fields.
  • Practical troubleshooting, repair, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of building, equipment, and facility maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to follow maintenance schedules, technical instructions, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and willingness to perform hands-on tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate effectively with a maintenance team.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to identify maintenance problems and report issues requiring further attention.
  • Flexibility to perform various maintenance duties according to operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and general maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment, and related systems.
  • Carry out minor repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical fixtures, mechanical components, and other general maintenance tasks within the scope of training and authorization.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair common maintenance problems to ensure facilities remain safe and operational.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and company procedures.
  • Inspect doors, windows, locks, walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, and other building components for damage or wear.
  • Assist with painting, minor construction, fixture installation, furniture repairs, and other facility improvement tasks.
  • Safely operate and maintain common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Monitor the condition of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts, and report shortages when necessary.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and report major defects or problems requiring specialized repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Follow company safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and other maintenance personnel when specialized repairs or additional assistance are required.
  • Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor.
