FIXED PLANT / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with fixed plant or similar industrial equipment.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Skilled in replacing rams, hydraulic cylinders, pulleys, and bearings.
• Experience replacing and servicing electric and diesel motors.
• Strong general servicing and repair skills with the ability to work independently.
• Good practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance and industrial equipment troubleshooting.
• Able to safely use common mechanical tools, workshop equipment, and maintenance tools.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fixed plant machinery and equipment.
• Inspect fixed plant systems and equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, including the replacement of rams and hydraulic cylinders.
• Replace and maintain mechanical components such as pulleys and bearings.
• Remove, install, and replace electric and diesel motors as required.
• Diagnose equipment faults and carry out appropriate corrective maintenance.
• Perform general mechanical servicing, repairs, adjustments, and component replacement.
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance equipment.
• Conduct equipment inspections and testing after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Respond to plant breakdowns and assist in restoring equipment to operational condition.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacement components.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer or site maintenance requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.
• Work independently while coordinating with production and maintenance personnel when required.
• Perform other duties related to fixed plant maintenance as assigned.
