EMERGENCY NURSE
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience is required.
- Must hold a valid professional nursing license / professional license examination qualification.
- DOH, HAAD, and NCLEX passers are accepted.
- Emergency department, trauma, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing procedures and patient stabilization.
- Ability to perform rapid patient assessment and prioritize care according to urgency.
- Competent in IV insertion, medication administration, wound care, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Physically and mentally capable of working in a fast-paced emergency-care environment.
- Committed to patient safety, quality care, and professional nursing standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid triage and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and priority of care.
- Quickly identify life-threatening conditions and initiate appropriate emergency nursing interventions.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and clinical condition throughout emergency care.
- Initiate IV lines, administer prescribed emergency medications, and collect blood samples as required.
- Assist with airway management, resuscitation, and other emergency interventions.
- Provide immediate care to patients with critical injuries, allergic reactions, trauma, and acute medical conditions.
- Clean, assess, and dress wounds according to established clinical procedures.
- Assist physicians with suturing, fracture splinting, bedside procedures, and minor medical interventions.
- Prepare patients and equipment for emergency procedures.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain established emergency room care and patient safety standards.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during emergency treatment.
- Ensure patients are properly assessed, monitored, and transferred when necessary.
- Assist with the patient check-in and emergency admission process to support efficient patient flow.
- Complete required nursing documentation and emergency care records accurately.
- Assist with insurance-related documentation and paperwork when required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and members of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and strong decision-making skills in emergency situations.
- Follow infection prevention, health and safety, and professional nursing standards.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Perform other nursing duties assigned by management or the supervising healthcare team.
