OWS Automotive is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of diesel engines and related mechanical systems through preventive maintenance, accurate diagnostics, and quality repairs. The ideal applicant has strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to workplace safety and customer satisfaction.
Diesel Mechanic
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in servicing and repairing diesel engines and heavy vehicles.
- Vocational training or an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related mechanical field.
- TESDA NC II Certification in Automotive Servicing, Diesel Engine Servicing, or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel injection systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Skilled in using diagnostic scanners, testing equipment, and specialized workshop tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding workshop duties.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines used in trucks, buses, heavy vehicles, and other diesel-powered equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid replacement, and scheduled servicing.
- Inspect, repair, and replace engine, transmission, clutch, braking, suspension, steering, cooling, and fuel system components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using computerized diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
- Service diesel fuel injection systems, turbochargers, exhaust systems, and emission control components.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and repair specifications.
- Conduct engine overhauls, rebuilds, and performance testing as required.
- Perform final inspections and road tests to verify repairs and ensure safe vehicle operation.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies while performing repair work.
- Coordinate with workshop supervisors and other technicians to complete repairs efficiently.
Perform other diesel repair and maintenance duties assigned by management.
