DATA CENTER HVAC TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• No minimum educational attainment is specified for this position.
• Male applicants are preferred.
• Practical experience in HVAC and refrigeration systems, particularly in IT environments and data centers.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center cooling equipment, including APC InRow CW/DX units.
• Knowledge of CRAC and CRAH systems, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, chilled water systems, and associated equipment.
• Familiarity with copper pipe brazing, leak testing, and mechanical installation activities.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), environmental monitoring, and HVAC control systems.
• Ability to diagnose cooling equipment faults and respond promptly to temperature and humidity alarms.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Install, operate, and maintain APC InRow CW/DX cooling units, including copper pipe brazing, leak testing, and related mechanical work.
• Inspect, service, and troubleshoot Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH), chilled water loops, chillers, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, and Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, replace air filters, and record equipment performance data.
• Diagnose and resolve temperature or humidity deviations, cooling system alarms, and equipment failures to minimize the risk of server outages and hardware damage.
• Monitor real-time temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions in data center facilities.
• Review system alarms and adjust HVAC controls to maintain required environmental conditions in accordance with applicable standards and site procedures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, refrigeration, and control system faults affecting cooling performance.
• Inspect refrigerant lines, chilled water piping, valves, pumps, and associated components for leaks or operational problems.
• Assist with the installation, testing, commissioning, and repair of precision cooling equipment.
• Monitor Building Management System (BMS) readings and alarms to support efficient facility operations.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and records of repairs and replacement parts.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and site requirements when working with electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and pressurized systems.
