This opportunity is ideal for experienced logistics and supply chain professionals with strong expertise in import operations, customs compliance, documentation control, and international trade coordination.
Customs Clearance Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Strong knowledge of local and international customs regulations
- Proven experience in import management and customs clearance operations
- Experience in managing budgets, contracts, and cost control
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and import/export management systems
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including customs brokers and freight forwarders
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire import process from documentation preparation to final delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international customs regulations and trade laws.
- Prepare, review, and manage all import-related documentation including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and third-party logistics providers.
- Resolve customs clearance issues promptly and ensure minimal delays in shipment processing.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and update internal procedures accordingly.
- Negotiate contracts, shipping rates, and service agreements with logistics providers to ensure cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline import processes and reduce lead times.
- Monitor import activities and prepare regular reports on performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all customs entries and related documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of logistics and supply chain processes.
