Mitac Company Limited is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the execution and supervision of horizontal and vertical construction projects in Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site engineering supervision, quality control, project progress monitoring, resource management, and safety compliance. Candidates must be able to communicate in Japanese at JLPT N3 level and have strong technical knowledge of relevant engineering software and surveying equipment.
CIVIL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Male only.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience managing both horizontal and vertical construction projects.
- Must have a JLPT N3 Language Proficiency Certificate.
- Preferably not more than 38 years old.
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Technical knowledge and practical experience with engineering software and equipment, including AutoCAD, Revit, Total Station, MS Project, or Primavera.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, site supervision, and engineering practices.
- Good understanding of quality control and construction compliance requirements.
- Ability to monitor project progress and effectively manage manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources.
- Knowledge of construction safety and site management procedures.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, workers, and project stakeholders.
- Physically capable of working in a construction site environment.
- Willing to work in Japan and adapt to Japanese workplace practices and culture.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage on-site execution of horizontal and vertical construction projects.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved plans, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, workers, engineers, and other project personnel.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor construction progress.
- Ensure construction work meets required quality standards, engineering specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Perform quality control inspections and identify construction defects or deviations.
- Review technical drawings, plans, specifications, and other project documents.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to management and project teams.
- Assist in planning and allocating manpower, materials, equipment, and other project resources.
- Monitor the efficient use of resources to help keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Use engineering and project management software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, or Primavera as required.
- Use surveying and site measurement equipment, including Total Station, when required.
- Identify technical, construction, or site-related issues and coordinate appropriate solutions.
- Ensure proper implementation of site safety procedures and workplace regulations.
- Monitor site conditions and ensure workers follow established health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate site activities to minimize delays and maintain efficient workflow.
- Prepare site reports, progress updates, inspection records, and other required documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, measurements, materials, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with Japanese colleagues, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform other engineering and site-management duties as assigned by the company.
