Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience.
- At least High School Graduate.
- Experience in the hotel industry is highly desirable.
- Training certificate is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and the assigned area of deployment.
- Proven practical knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety.
- Ability to prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and established quality standards.
- Knowledge of proper food storage, handling, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and performing demanding kitchen duties. - Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to follow instructions and hotel procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes, menu specifications, and established quality standards.
- Plan and organize daily food preparation and cooking activities.
- Assist in planning menus and developing new recipes and dishes.
- Prepare ingredients through washing, cutting, portioning, marinating, seasoning, and other required preparation methods.
- Ensure food is properly cooked, presented, and served at the required quality and temperature.
- Monitor the freshness, quality, taste, texture, and appearance of food throughout preparation and service.
- Ensure all food ingredients are properly stored, labeled, covered, and maintained at appropriate temperatures.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Maintain appropriate portion sizes and minimize food waste through proper preparation and storage.
- Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness before use and report unsuitable or spoiled items.
- Coordinate food preparation and service with other kitchen staff and food and beverage personnel.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent food quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment, cooking appliances, knives, and other tools safely and correctly.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, checking, and storing food supplies when required.
- Monitor ingredient and kitchen supply levels and report shortages to the supervisor or management.
- Ensure food is prepared according to guest requirements and established hotel standards.
- Assist in preparing food for banquets, functions, special events, and other hotel activities when required.
- Maintain proper kitchen organization during busy service periods.
- Follow hotel recipes, procedures, menu specifications, and quality-control standards.
- Assist in training and guiding kitchen assistants or junior kitchen staff when assigned.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of food preparation areas after service.
- Comply with hotel policies, workplace safety requirements, and applicable food safety standards.
- Perform other culinary and kitchen duties assigned by hotel management.
