KITCHEN HELPER

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper, Kitchen Assistant, Food Service Worker, or in a similar position is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to assist with washing, cutting, peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients.
• Good understanding of proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and performing routine kitchen duties.
• Able to lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies and equipment when required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willing to follow instructions and established kitchen procedures.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn.
• Good attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Able to work independently when assigned routine tasks.
• Flexible and willing to perform additional kitchen duties as required.
• Willing to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays when required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with daily food preparation and kitchen activities.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients according to instructions.
• Assist with preparing meat, vegetables, seafood, sauces, and other ingredients for cooking.
• Ensure ingredients and food supplies are properly handled, stored, and organized.
• Receive and assist in checking food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen materials.
• Place received items in their proper storage locations and follow appropriate storage procedures.
• Assist in monitoring kitchen supplies and report shortages to the cook or supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized preparation areas, workstations, storage areas, and kitchen facilities.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with cleaning ovens, stoves, sinks, counters, floors, and other kitchen areas.
• Dispose of food waste and other rubbish properly according to workplace procedures.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
• Help prevent cross-contamination by following proper food preparation and cleaning procedures.
• Assist in keeping refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas clean and orderly.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure food preparation runs smoothly.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and replenishing ingredients and supplies when required.
• Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Follow instructions from cooks, supervisors, and management.
• Help maintain an efficient and safe kitchen environment at all times.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties and assignments as may be assigned by management from time to time.
