Automotive Service Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 72 months (6 years) of relevant work experience.
• Must have accumulated at least 9,360 hours of automotive work experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required (Class 5 equivalent).
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Experience using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and automotive testing devices.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on repair work.
• Candidates with extensive experience in modern vehicle diagnostics, computerized systems, and dealership or fleet maintenance environments will have a strong advantage for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks.
• Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, inspections, and tune-ups.
• Repair and replace defective components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Utilize scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues accurately.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and recommend necessary repairs.
• Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and standard repair procedures.
• Maintain accurate repair orders, service records, and inspection reports.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to supervisors or customers when required.
• Assist in reducing vehicle downtime through efficient and quality repair work.
