Air Conditioning Mechanic

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred for this position.
  • Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and air conditioning systems.
  • Practical knowledge of various HVAC equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Direct Expansion (DX) units, chillers, and related systems.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC tools, testing instruments, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, technical documents, and maintenance instructions.
  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper handling of refrigerants and HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems in buildings and facilities.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on AHUs, FCUs, DX units, chillers, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect HVAC systems and components to identify mechanical, electrical, and operational problems.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and carry out the necessary repairs or replacement of defective components.
  • Check electrical connections, motors, compressors, fans, thermostats, control systems, and other HVAC components.
  • Monitor system performance, airflow, temperature, and cooling efficiency to ensure proper operation.
  • Clean and maintain filters, coils, drain lines, ducts, and other air conditioning components.
  • Check refrigerant levels and identify leaks, carrying out servicing and repairs in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Follow approved maintenance schedules and complete assigned work orders within the required timeframe.
  • Record maintenance activities, inspection findings, equipment defects, and completed repairs.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and supervisors to ensure efficient completion of HVAC maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
