Carver (Wood Experience)

Qualifications:

• Must have hands-on experience in the woodworks, joinery, furniture manufacturing, or woodworking industry.
• Proven experience in wood carving, shaping, detailing, and ornamental woodworking.
• Strong knowledge of various wood types, carving techniques, and finishing methods.
• Skilled in using woodworking hand tools, carving tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, design sketches, and production specifications.
• Good understanding of wood grain patterns, material characteristics, and finishing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper tool handling practices.
• Good communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform wood carving, engraving, shaping, and decorative detailing on furniture, doors, panels, cabinetry, and custom joinery products.
• Interpret design drawings, sketches, patterns, and specifications to produce accurate carved wood components.
• Select appropriate wood materials and prepare workpieces for carving and finishing.
• Use hand tools, chisels, carving knives, routers, and power tools to create detailed woodwork designs and patterns.
• Shape, smooth, sand, and refine carved surfaces to achieve the required finish and appearance.
• Repair, restore, or modify wooden products and decorative elements as required.
• Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards, dimensions, and design specifications.
• Collaborate with carpenters, assemblers, supervisors, and production teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain woodworking tools, carving equipment, and workstations in good condition.
• Ensure proper handling of materials and minimize waste during production processes.
• Follow company safety policies and workshop procedures at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and assigned work areas.
• Support the production of high-quality woodwork and joinery products that meet customer and project expectations.
