CAKE MAKER/DECORATOR

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Cake Maker/Decorator or related role.
  • Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or related fields.
  • Expert in buttercream decoration, 2D and 3D cake decorating, and cake calligraphy.
  • Strong creativity and artistic skills in cake presentation and design.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper kitchen practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for customer orders.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients to understand event themes, cake concepts, and design preferences.
  • Create sketches or mock-up designs for client approval.
  • Prepare batters, frostings, icings, and fillings using standard recipes and techniques.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries using piping, fondant work, airbrushing, sugar sculpting, and other advanced decorating methods.
  • Produce customized 2D and 3D cake designs and decorative calligraphy.
  • Ensure cakes meet quality, presentation, and customer expectations.
  • Manage decorating supplies, colors, ingredients, and inventory; coordinate reordering when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality.
