Ratua Private Island Resort is seeking an experienced Marine Service Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in marine systems, leadership skills, and a customer-focused approach to ensure high service standards and operational efficiency.
MARINE SERVICE MANAGER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Marine Engineering or related field
- Proven experience as a boat mechanic manager or in a supervisory marine role
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, boat systems, and electrical/mechanical repairs
- Licensed and able to operate boats
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to perform diagnostics and handle technical problem-solving
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy equipment
- Willingness to work in Vanuatu
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the marine service department (marina, shipyard, or dealership)
- Supervise maintenance and repair of boats and marine vessels
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, technical advice, and resolving concerns
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to marine engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Lead, train, and manage a team of technicians and service personnel
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures
