Raumai 18 Ltd is seeking a skilled Generator & Utilities Technician responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of diesel and gas-powered generators. The role involves both mechanical and electrical work, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency response to ensure continuous and reliable power supply across multiple sites.

Generator & Utilities Technician

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Engineering (Material Science or related field)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Technical certification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Generator Maintenance (preferred)
  • Manufacturer certifications (Cummins, Kohler, Caterpillar, Generac) are an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacement, coolant checks, battery testing)
  • Conduct load bank testing to assess generator performance under load
  • Inspect and maintain fuel, cooling, exhaust, and electrical systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues (engine faults, injectors, turbochargers, belts, pumps)
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults (AVR, control panels, wiring, circuit breakers, voltage regulators)
  • Replace defective components and ensure proper reassembly and testing
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for generator failures and power outages
  • Respond quickly to minimize downtime and restore operations
  • Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and work orders (CMMS or manual)
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (EPA) and company safety standards
  • Monitor fuel usage, runtime hours, and spare parts inventory
  • Assist in generator installation, ATS setup, and system synchronization
  • Perform testing and verification prior to handover
