Have the expertise to shape and process timber with accuracy and efficiency? We’re hiring experienced Wood Machinists to operate woodworking machinery and produce high quality timber components for residential, commercial, and manufacturing projects with leading employers across Australia.

Wood Machinist

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Wood Machinist.
• Trade qualification in Cabinetmaking or a related field.
• Experienced in wood machining and joinery/cabinetry work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Proficient in operating woodworking machines: saws, planers, routers, edge banders, etc.
• Must either be exempt from English language testing or have passed an English proficiency test (IELTS or PTE Academic).
• Effective English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.

Responsibilities:

• Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, and edge banders to produce high-quality timber components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately to measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and wood-based materials.
• Fit and install cabinetry, benchtops, and joinery on-site when required.
• Sand, finish, and polish completed products to ensure a high-quality standard.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.
• Maintain woodworking tools, machines, and work areas in safe and clean condition.
