OUTBBOARD MECHANIC

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Outboard Mechanic
  • At least 1 year of college or vocational training in a relevant field
  • Ability to provide a valid Trade Certificate
  • Good to excellent communication skills
  • Employment history with no more than a 1-year gap between 2020 to present
  • Valid passport

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in marine mechanics and electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize boat performance
  • Familiarity with marine electronics and 12-volt systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to work on water and in workshops

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-deliver and fit up new outboard motors and boats
  • Install marine electronics, including sounders, GPS, radios, trolling motors, and understand 12-volt marine systems
  • Conduct water tests to check propellers, motor heights, and optimize boat performance
  • Confidently handle boats on water during testing and diagnostics
  • Perform trailer maintenance, including bearing changes and 12-volt system diagnostics
  • Intrpret technical diagrams (especially Yamaha brands) for repairs and installations
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and customers to discuss, diagnose, and resolve boat and motor issues
