Mechanical Estimation Engineer
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, project costing, and market pricing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of applicable standards and codes (ASME, API, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze RFQs, tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems (e.g., piping, HVAC, fire protection, equipment installation, etc.).
- Obtain and evaluate vendor/supplier quotations for materials, equipment, and subcontracted works.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams for technical and cost inputs.
- Assist in preparing technical and commercial bid submissions, including pricing sheets and project schedules.
- Identify risks, assumptions, and exclusions in estimates and communicate them to stakeholders.
- Attend site visits or pre-bid meetings as necessary to gather project-specific information.
- Maintain a database of cost histories, supplier rates, and productivity benchmarks.
- Support post-bid clarifications, negotiations, and handover to execution teams if the bid is awarded.
