Wheel and Bush Assembly Fitter
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a passport.
- Candidate must know how to communicate in English.
- Knowledge of wheel and axle systems, including bushings, bearings, and alignment processes
- Proficient in using mechanical tools, such as hydraulic presses, wrenches, and alignment devices
- Familiar with troubleshooting and replacing worn or damaged components
- Attention to detail in ensuring all components are installed accurately and safely
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy components and work in confined or challenging environments
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install wheelsets (wheels and bushes) onto axles for locomotives and wagons
Ensure proper alignment of wheelsets on the axles, using technical drawings and guidelines
Install and press bushes into wheels and axles, ensuring secure fitting and safe operation
Testthe functionality and alignment of the wheel and bush assembly, checking for smooth rotation and safety
Replace worn-outor damaged wheels, bushes, and axles and ensure new parts are correctly installed
Inspect wheel sets for defects or wear and report any issues to the supervisor
