Junior Estimator

Qualifications:

• Three years or more of related experience in construction, trucking, transportation, logistics or dispatching
• 30 hour OSHA training course (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree mathematics, finance, accounting, statistics or anther related field
• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis and excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

• Develops, maintain and performs bi-weekly update of project schedules with the input from Project superintendent
• Decide how the tendering procedure will work, recommend tenders and conduct negotiations.
• Keep track of the projects costs and budget.
• Work with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors
• Manage and co-ordinate construction projects.
• Resolves major schedule conflicts between subcontractors, suppliers and service vendors to avoid delay or disruption of the project
• Performs customer relations activities and promotes teamwork with coworkers, engineers, government officials, subcontractors and other key personnel
• Assists superintendent with subcontractor scheduling, quality and safety issues on jobsites and performs other assignments as directed
• Reports labor use to estimating department and reports unit pricing of materials
• Provide strategic assistance to the contractor in securing bids, with a key emphasis on formulating pricing strategies for services and other related components
• Examine and assess date and documentation, including analysis reports, purchase orders, projected schedules, and other relevant materials
• Collecting and analyzing information necessary for generating the project estimate
