WELDER FABRICATOR (FCAW / MIG)

Qualifications:

• Good verbal and written communication skills with trade technology
• Candidates must have at least 1 year in college or 1 year vocational course
  Good Ability to read and understand 2D AutoCad and Inventor drawings
• Experience with positional welding using FLUX CORED MIG WIRES
• Ability to weld to code requirements and pass visual, ultrasonic and Xray testing
• Able to work well with limited supervision

Responsibilities:

• Cut, roll, shape, bend , position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or sub units
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications and engineering drawings by using measuring equipment
• Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for thickness, ,machine and welding shrinkage and other component specifications
• Understand engineering drawings to determine material and equipment requirements and task sequences
• Move parts into position manually or with hoists or cranes
• Set up and operate hand and power tools, pipe fitting equipment, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, pressure gauges and welding equipment
• Construct boilers, pressure vessels and tanks to Australian Standards and or customer requirements
